Unionised workers at Kia Motors stopped work on Thursday for four hours over a wage deal, the union told Reuters.
This follows strikes on 2 July and a call by unions at Kia parent Hyundai Motor Co for four-hour strikes today as well.
“We want the company to join ongoing wage talks with an umbrella union”, union spokesman Song Ho-chang told Reuters.
Ssangyong Motor also reported a halt in car production, because of a partial strike for two hours, according in a filing with the Korea Exchange.
The latest round of unrest was sparked, at least in part, by a resumption of beef imports from the US that had been stopped in 2003 following a disease scare.
