Renault has launched a new petrol-engined Twingo with CO2 emissions of 120g/km, equivalent to fuel consumption of 5.1 litres/100km.

The new car is a variant of the 1.2 16V 75 eco² with CO2 emissions cut by 15g/km (11%) thanks to engine calibration work and longer gear ratios.


The 120g/km version costs no more than the standard car and will be called the Twingo 1.2 LEV 16V 75 eco2 in France, priced from EUR9,950 It is eligible for the state’s EUR700 ‘eco bonus’. Sales began today (21 July).


It will also be sold in Spain, Germany, Holland and Belgium, from September.


UK importers have been introducing new sub-120g/km ‘eco’ models as such cars qualify for greatly reduced UK annual road tax.
