In the weekend papers, just-auto spotted Renault offering GBP3,000 cash back on a particular Scenic MPV (minivan) model while Citroën on Tuesday said it was offering a new, three year, servicing contract on all new vehicles registered in September.
“The company’s latest credit crunch busting promotion allows buyers to purchase a low cost subsidised servicing package with their new vehicle, for either three years/20,000 miles or three years/35,000 miles at a VAT [tax]-inclusive cost of GBP250 or GBP300 respectively.
“A one-off payment is made when the vehicle is purchased and with nothing further to pay, the costs of servicing and brake fluid changes are covered for up to three years or until the specified mileage is reached.”
Citroën’s recommended annual service will also be included in the contract so drivers covering low annual mileage, who take longer to reach their scheduled service, still take their cars in for a yearly oil change plus ‘health check’.

By GlobalDataPSA sibling Peugeot, meanwhile, is offering new car customers in August and September an incentive of GBP308’s worth of fuel.
If the chosen version is a diesel HDi 90 model then it could mean that over the first 3,000 miles are free (petrol versions would travel about 2,500 miles).
The 308 was introduced a year ago in three- and five-door hatchback body styles but the incentive is available range-wide, including the versatile new SW (wagon) with panoramic glass roof launched only recently.
