VW delivered 3.31m vehicles in the first six months of 2008, a rise of 7.2%, and ahead of Ford’s announced sales of 3.22m for this period. Toyota and General Motors are the top two.

We will systematically push ahead with our growth course even in the present difficult market environment,” VW chairman Martin Winterkorn said.
