Sales of new cars in Italy fell 18.9% year-on-year in October to 167,940 units according to data released by Italian automotive trade body ANFIA.

Fiat Group sales fell 13% in October but its market share edged up slightly to 33%.
Import marques generally recorded substantial declines in October though Nissan and Mazda both bucked the trend with gains over last year. Nissan sales were up almost 10% to 3,757 cars while Mazda also recorded a gain of almost 10% to 1,566 units.
