Aston Martin has told just-auto that it is to extend its planned Christmas shutdown for another two weeks ‘based on current economic conditions’.

Production staff at the company’s plant were due to return to work on January 5 after the festive closure. But production at Gaydon, where the DBS, DB9 and V8 Vantage models are made, will now not resume until January 19.
The firm operates a flexible working scheme so that workers will take extra holiday with pay and bank unused working hours that can be drawn down when orders pick up again.
The spokesman added that the situation is under ‘constant review’ as it is across the whole industry.
