Reuters, citing a Japanese business newspaper, said Toyota, Fuji Heavy’s largest shareholder, will use a Daihatsu plant in Japan to produce the Passo model for Fuji Heavy.

The Passo is sold by Daihatsu as the Boon in Japan and as the Sirion in Europe, the report noted.

The slightly restyled Subaru version will be supplied at the rate of 5,000 to 10,000 units a year, the newspaper reportedly said.

Subaru has previously sold rebadged Suzuki Swift models, built in Hungary, as its entry-level Justy line in Europe.
