According to a report in a local Wolfsburg newspaper today, Jung would replace Detlef Wittig who will retire at the age of 65 in June.
The change of leadership is planned to take place this summer, according to the newspaper, which quotes sources close to the company.
Jung is currently head of production for the Volkswagen brand.
