“If Tata is interested in Jaguar and Land Rover, we are ready to provide technical support,” a Fiat spokesman told Reuters at the Frankfurt show.

Fiat chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo last weekend told Reuters that the Italian automaker was not interested in the two British-based brands.

Tata’s Indian rival Mahindra & Mahindra has also been reported as considering buying the two Ford-owned brands.

Ford itself has said it would not announce a decision on any sale until at least the end of this year.
