Mitsubishi
Motors Corporation announced today the appointment of Stefan Jacoby, vice president,
Asia & Pacific region, at Volkswagen AG, to the post of president &
CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Europe B.V from 1 October 2001.

“Highly knowledgeable about the auto industry in general and with extensive
experience in working in Europe, the United States and Japan, Jacoby is expected
to make a major contribution to the success of MMC’s operations in Europe,”
the company said in a statement.

Jacoby, a 43-year-old German, joined VW AG in 1985 and served in finance, VW
of America, distribution operations, VW-Audi Japan, the overseas division and
as secretary-general before his current posting.
