General
Motors’ European arm Opel appears poised to put the Signum2 concept car into
production according to comments made at the Frankfurt Motor Show today by new
Chairman and Managing Director Carl-Peter Forster, writes just-auto.com deputy
editor Graeme Roberts.

"In an article written by one of your colleagues, I read: ‘If Signum2
represents the future of Opel, please build it soon!’," Forster said. "I

Then, deviating from his pre-prepared press conference remarks, he added: "Well,
I hope we won’t keep you waiting too long."

The Signum2 concept car combines styling elements of a coupe with a station
wagon’s practicality, Forster said. Features include swivelling front seats,
sliding storage boxes, rear seats that convert into a load area cover, state
of the art in-car communications – and an espresso machine.
