Dana
Corporation has announced that it has been selected by BMW Group as an intended
production supplier of axle components for a future BMW vehicle platform.

Dana plans to support BMW with the design and production of front and rear
differentials for the programme, which will be based in the United States. The
selection adds to Dana’s increasing business with North American transplant
manufacturers.

The systems include a variety of features for high quality, performance, and
durability, including low-transmission-error drive gears; luxury-car-type bearing
diameters; low-backlash dimensional control; and vehicle-correlated end-of-line
noise testing.

The drive units will be produced by Dana’s Traction Technologies Group, which
consists of 25 manufacturing, assembly, and research facilities in 16 countries.
