General Motors Corp. has announced its July 2000 monthly production totaled 259,000 vehicles (139,000 cars and 120,000 trucks) in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

In July 1999, GM produced 262,000 vehicles (124,000 cars and 138,000 trucks). Production normally is lower in July because GM Operations are shut down for the first two weeks of the month.

In addition, the third-quarter estimate has been increased to 1,311,000 (687,000 cars and 624,000 trucks) from 1,299,000 vehicles (678,00 cars and 621,00 trucks). The increase reflects the strength of our assembly plants in bringing new products to market quickly.
