Hyundai
may build compact cars in the Mercedes-Benz factory in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais
state, which is currently operating at well below capacity and may be sold, says
the German newspaper, Die Welt.

Hyundai wants to build a compact model, which would sell for 18,000 reais,
giving the company the opportunity to pay off the debt of over $US 200 million
owed to the Brazilian government, which the Korean automaker inherited from
the failed Asia Motors company.
