Production of the Jeep Grand Cherokee has started at DaimlerChrysler’s Chinese joint venture Beijing Jeep.

The US automaker recently agreed a new deal for co-operation with Beijing Automotive Industry (Group) Co which will result in additional capital, new management, the introduction of new technology and a new model launch every year

To build the Grand Cherokee, a new assembly and welding line was imported along with other new production and test equipment.


BJC’s current sales and servicing network covers 11 provinces or autonomous regions and there are plans to expand this to 23 provinces.
