Nissan will begin an international rollout of the vehicle in Mexico, followed by launches in Latin America, the Middle East, ASEAN, and Oceania.

Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile, Nissan’s joint venture in China, designed and developed the five-seat model and will manufacture it.

According to the company, the pickup will be available with powertrains tailored to individual markets, including an internal combustion engine (ICE) option and 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variants.

The plug-in hybrid configuration is Nissan’s first electrified pickup platform and includes vehicle-to-load power supply functionality for external equipment.

Nissan will sell the PHEV version in Latin America, ASEAN, and Oceania, while the ICE model will be offered in the Middle East.

The Philippines will receive the vehicle as the Navara Pro in November 2026.

Other Latin American markets and the Middle East are due to follow by the end of 2026, while Australia and New Zealand will become the first right-hand-drive markets in 2027.

Nissan said the launch forms part of its strategy to use its Chinese joint venture operations for engineering, manufacturing, and exports to international markets.

Alongside the Frontier Pro and Navara Pro pickup lines, the company plans to export the China-built N7 electrified sedan to markets including ASEAN and Latin America.

Nissan chief performance officer Guillaume Cartier said: “By combining advanced technology, impressive performance and Nissan’s renowned quality and durability, we have created a pickup that reflects Nissan’s Dare Beyond ambition, challenging expectations while remaining practical for everyday life.”

Since introducing the Type 13 truck in 1934, Nissan has recorded cumulative pickup sales of more than 15 million units across upwards of 140 markets worldwide.

Last month, Nissan unveiled its all-new Pixo battery-powered small city car, developed in partnership with Renault mainly for European markets, under its ‘Mobility Intelligence for Everyday Life’ theme.
