It combines a new global terrain architecture (GTA) vehicle architecture, the Geely EM-T hybrid powertrain and an AI all-terrain digital chassis.

The technology is “designed to combine demanding all-terrain capability with the comfort and refinement of everyday driving,” the company said in the release.

Geely said the AI system calculates power distribution, torque control and body adjustments according to terrain and driving conditions.

The EM-T hybrid setup uses a three-motor four-wheel-drive system with intelligent torque management and differential locking, supported by Geely’s Xingtui AI-powered Drive technology to help maintain traction.

The GTA architecture combines unibody construction with an integrated frame.

Geely said the design is intended to improve structural strength, reduce weight and preserve cabin and cargo space.

The company said it has invested more than 50bn yuan ($7.44bn) in vehicle architecture development across platforms including CMA, SEA and GEA.

Geely also highlighted safety and remote-use functions including rollover and battery protection, satellite communications, an onboard oxygen supply system for high-altitude travel, and an emergency flotation and escape mode using sonar and twin propulsors in water-related emergencies.

Geely said the Zhanjian 700 underwent testing with 659 vehicles covering more than 6.11 million km across over 80 off-road scenarios and 7,933 validation items, including 433 new requirements for electrified off-road vehicles.

At the same event, the company introduced a global vehicle validation system aimed at supporting development for overseas markets.

The launch comes as Geely reported record first-half 2026 revenue of 173.6bn yuan, up 15% year on year, while core profit attributable to owners of the parent rose 46% to 9.68bn yuan.

Vehicle sales reached 1.42 million units in the period, and exports surged 158% to more than 474,000 units, prompting Geely to raise its 2026 export target to 920,000 units.
