Honda Xcelerator Ventures (HXV – a tech investment subsidiary owned by Honda) has announced its investment in Quemix Inc., a company advancing quantum computing algorithms and software development.

Through this investment, HXV says it will further strengthen its collaboration with Quemix to accelerate the practical application of quantum technology, particularly in next-generation materials development.

Quemix has been working closely with Honda through joint research initiatives utilising quantum computing technologies. Together, Honda says the companies have achieved significant milestones, including the ‘development of a world-first technology for quantum state readout in 2025 and a new quantum algorithm in 2026 that significantly accelerates Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations, a foundational approach in computational materials science’.

Building on this collaboration, Quemix aims to advance quantum technology beyond research and experimentation toward real-world implementation, helping accelerate the development of next-generation materials and other advanced developments.
