Marti Technologies, Türkiye’s mobility platform, and Tensor, a personal autonomous vehicle (AV) company, have entered a multi-year partnership to deploy Tensor’s AVs on Marti’s ride-hailing platform in Turkish cities.

Under the agreement, Marti will purchase Tensor AVs for use across its network.

Marti currently provides ride-hailing services in 20 cities in Türkiye.

Following launch, users will be able to hail Tensor AVs directly through the Marti app.

Tensor, founded in Silicon Valley in 2016, is claimed to be the first company to develop a Level 4 AV designed for both personal ownership and professional fleet use.

Although built primarily for private owners, the platform is also designed for fleet deployment, with native ride-share functionality intended to allow integration into autonomous mobility networks globally.

Tensor CEO Jay Xiao said: “Our strategic collaboration with Marti is a bold step in our mission to democratize autonomy and bring a premium autonomous experience to Marti platform consumers.

“Building on our recent partnership announcements in the USA, UAE, and Europe, this partnership reaffirms our global commitment to bringing the luxury of safe, efficient, and scalable autonomous mobility to the world.”

Tensor’s architecture combines a vertically integrated compute and sensor stack with proprietary sensor-cleaning technology, which the company says is designed to support fleet uptime and allow operational design domains to scale.

The vehicles receive over-the-air software updates, including at the firmware level.

The Tensor Robocar runs on a proprietary supercomputer built around eight Nvidia Thor-X GPUs, supporting its onboard AI systems and what the company describes as a high-redundancy, safety-first architecture.

Marti, founded in 2018, operates ride-hailing services matching riders with car, motorcycle and taxi drivers, alongside delivery services and a rental fleet of e-mopeds, e-bikes and e-scooters, all run on proprietary software and IoT infrastructure.

The partnership with Tensor extends Marti’s mobility offering to include AVs as it continues to expand across the Turkish market.

Marti founder and CEO Oguz Alper Oktem added: “With our extensive field operations team, established infrastructure, and approximately 7.8 million all-time unique platform consumers, Marti is well-positioned to support the rapid, safe deployment of Tensor’s autonomous vehicle fleet in the years ahead.”

In March this year, Tensor presented the Tensor Robocar in the UK for the first time at the 5th annual European AV Summit.

The vehicle included a foldable steering wheel co-developed with Autoliv.
