Smart, the Mercedes-Geely JV, has shown its Smart Concept #2 at the Beijing Auto China 2026 show.
Designed to be engineered on the brand’s all-new, self-developed proprietary Electric Compact Architecture (ECA), the smart Concept #2 represents the ‘vision of an ultimate all-electric city car’. The new ECA architecture will provide the basis for a next-generation electric drivetrain, advanced safety and an ‘urban driving experience that’s unlike anything, ingeniously maximizing interior space through a signature “wheels-at-the-corners” setup within an ultra-compact 2,792 mm overall length’.

The Smart Concept #2 achieves a tight 6.95-meter turning circle. The brand says the advanced ECA platform empowers the Concept #2 with ‘modern electric performance, envisioning a range of nearly 300 km, alongside rapid DC fast-charging that would charge from 10% to 80% SOC in under 20 minutes.
The production model Smart #2 is set to make its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026.
