Priced at 2.2 million yen ($US18,200), the two-litre Civic Type R meets Japanese standards for ultra-low emission vehicles, the report said. Its monthly sales target is 300 units.


Honda UK’s Swindon plant will export a similar though less powerful version of the three-door Civic to the US next year.
