Japanese automaker Honda Motor Company reported that its global production increased by 4.3% year-on-year to 283,161 vehicles in December 2025, after plunging by 34% to 218,927 units in November which the company attributed to a shortage of semiconductors, resulting in a sharp drawdown in inventories. Output in North America rebounded by 29% year-on-year to 117,601 units in December after plunging by 61% to 53,646 units in November, but this was offset by a 16% drop in output in Asia to 97,923 units – including an 11% decline in China to 68,201 units.
