“VinFast will continue to increase its investment to $1bn, with an increase in production capacity to 350,000 per year,” VinFast Indonesia CEO Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto said.
He said VinFast has so far invested $300m in the Indonesian market.
The Subang plant in West Java has recently entered its trial production phase and is anticipated to be running at full capacity in the first quarter of next year, he added.
Kariyanto said overall investment in Indonesia could ultimately surpass $1bn, depending on how demand in Southeast Asia’s biggest economy evolves.
Recently, VinFast Indonesia signed strategic memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with Goodyear Indonesia, Dunlop, Denso Sales Indonesia, CARfix, and Scuto Paint to build a comprehensive after-sales service ecosystem for BEVs in Indonesia.
Goodyear Indonesia has agreed to supply tyres for VinFast vehicles, with the two companies also agreeing to jointly implement maintenance programmes and periodic inspections of VinFast vehicles across Goodyear’s nationwide network of Autocare centres.
At the time, Hardjosoemarto said: “Partnering with five leading companies, Goodyear, Dunlop, Denso Sales, CARfix, and Scuto Paint, is a strategic move that enables VinFast to elevate after-sales service quality while laying the foundation for a modern, sustainable, and standardized service ecosystem.
“This initiative is part of VinFast’s broader strategy to realize our vision of becoming a global EV brand and to contribute to Indonesia’s green transition.”
Last week, VinFast Auto announced it delivered 23,186 vehicles in its domestic market in November 2025.
In the first eleven months of the year, VinFast sold a total of 147,450 vehicles in Vietnam, a 138% increase on the same period last year, with the automaker accounting for around 30% of total vehicle sales in the country.
