
VinFast Auto introduced two new battery-powered route buses at the Busworld Europe 2025 exhibition in Brussels in early October, the EB8 and EB12 models, as Vietnam’s largest domestic automaker stepped up its efforts to expand its presence in the global bus segment.
VinFast confirmed that the 12-metre, full-size EB12 model already complies with UNECE and CE standards and is available to order in Europe, while the 8-metre EB8 model will be available next year.

The company said that the two bus models have been engineered for “optimal performance and range, passenger comfort, pricing, and safety. They integrate a comprehensive array of advanced safety and driver assistance technologies, ensuring an ultimately secure and peaceful experience for passengers, operators, and vulnerable road users on every route.”
The 3-door, low-floor EB12 has a GVW of 19,200 kg and is 12.1 metres in length. It can carry up to 90 passengers, including 35 seated, 54 standing, and space for 1 wheelchair. The company said the interior layout can be tailored to meet individual customer requirements.
The EB12 is driven by two 125 kW wheel-hub electric drive motors, delivering a combined maximum power output of 250 kW and a top speed of 80 km/h. The bus comes equipped with a 422 kWh battery pack, delivering a range of 400 km on a single charge, helped by a regenerative braking system. The bus also supports 140 kW fast charging via the CCS2 port.
The EB12 comes with core safety systems such as ABS, EBD, BA, Traction Control, as well as a wide range of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as standard, including Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning (DDAW), Driver Monitoring, Blind Spot Detection, Forward and Rear Collision Warning, and Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA). It is also equipped with an Automatic Fire Suppression System (AFSS) and a CCTV surveillance system.
