In a fax to just-auto, Daewoo Motor KFT (DMK) – the Hungarian office of Daewoo Motor Co. Ltd – has withdrawn all threat of legal action against just-auto and its correspondent, Ryan Tutak. DMK objected to the comments attributed to DMK employees in an article written for just-auto by Tutak, who is just-auto’s Associate Editor for Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. DMK threatened to sue just-auto and Tutak unless the article was withdrawn or corrected for ‘falsehoods’ within 48 hours.

just-auto.com stood by the original transcript of the interviews given to Tutak and offered DMK the right to a response to be published on the just-auto site. DMK declined to make a response and a DMK communication received at the just-auto offices by fax on Tuesday afternoon confirms that there will be no follow-up response by DMK and that all ‘legal activities’ are withdrawn.
