The high-level LG Group delegation met with top Honda executives during their visit and hosted the company’s private “Tech Day” event, to introduce the automaker to the group’s latest technologies, including LG Electronics’ latest connected infotainment systems, in-vehicle displays, camera and communication modules and EV battery solutions.

As the global automotive industry moves increasingly towards electric vehicles (EVs) and software-defined vehicles (SDVs), the conglomerate is becoming an increasingly important strategic supplier. LG Group has supply partnerships with a growing number of global automakers, including Hyundai Motor Group, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and General Motors.

LG Group views EVs as a priority growth segment and has established a “One Team for EV Parts” system, led by group chairman Koo Kwang-mo, which allows its relevant subsidiaries to work closely together to integrate their key technologies and strengthen their marketing efforts by offering “bundled” solutions to their clients.

LG Group’s visit to Honda follows similar private presentations to other global automakers, following its first Tech Day event held last year at Mercedes-Benz’s headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. LG Energy Solution is currently building an EV battery plant in partnership with Honda.
