ZF Transmissions Shanghai (ZFTS), a joint venture between ZF and Shanghai Automobile Gear Works, has announced the launch of its first reduction drive for the new energy vehicle (NEV) market in China.
This product, which is set to be supplied to an automotive manufacturer in the country, represents an advancement in ZF’s localised E-mobility solutions.

ZFTS’s business scope has now expanded to include E-mobility, with the NEV reducer being a key addition to its product lineup.
The new stand-alone reducer embodies ZF’s global e-drive technologies and local manufacturing capabilities.
Characterised by low noise levels, high efficiency, and a compact axial parallel design, it meets the rigorous demands of China’s mainstream NEV platforms.
With the launch of the initial unit, ZFTS is set to ramp up mass production and enhance its delivery capabilities.

For over four decades, ZF has been involved in the country’s automotive industry, promoting the development of the local supply chain and manufacturing system via localised research and development (R&D), mass-production of advanced technologies, and strategic partnerships.
