“Unit sales in Asia and above all China will rise sharply in the next five to 10 years,” he said in an interview with the SonntagsBlick paper, according to Reuters.

“We now sell in Asia around a third of the vehicles that we sell in Germany. We want to roughly double our sales in this part of the world to around 150,000 cars by 2008,” Panke reportedly said, adding Europe and North America would still remain key markets.

Acording to Reuters, Panke said BMW was very satisfied with sales so far this year of its luxury brand Rolls-Royce and wanted to sell 1,000 Phantom cars in 2004.
