Mitsubishi Motors Canada has unveiled “The Intelligent Companion”, an AI-powered tool designed to elevate the customer experience for the Outlander 2025 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) compact sport utility.

Developed in collaboration with WongDoody, an Infosys company and IBM ecosystem partner, the tool leverages IBM’s watsonx portfolio of AI products to provide an interactive and personalised experience for prospective buyers.

Launched earlier this month, the tool utilises IBM’s Granite model and is tailored specifically with data from the Outlander 2025 to enhance customer engagement and support informed decision-making during the purchasing process.

The tool enables customers to explore the vehicle’s features in detail, serving as an interactive 3D visual guide.

Mitsubishi Motors Canada marketing director Steve Carter said: “The Intelligent Companion” represents a major leap forward in customer engagement, offering a tailored experience that highlights the best features of the Mitsubishi Outlander 2025.

“This tool perfectly aligns with our commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance customer satisfaction and drive innovation across our brand.”

Built using IBM watsonx Orchestrate and watsonx.ai, the tool facilitates natural and conversational interactions, allowing customers to ask detailed questions tailored to their individual needs.

IBM watsonx Orchestrate product vice-president Matt Sanchez said: “Solutions like watsonx Orchestrate and watsonx.ai are designed to scale and accelerate AI impact, empowering businesses to transform how they go to market and become AI-first organisations.”

The company said the tool has been trained and tested with Canadian target audiences to ensure it meets specific customer expectation.

Mitsubishi Motors Canada is the sales, service, parts and marketing arm for Japan’s Mitsubishi Motors.

In February 2025, Mitsubishi Motors reported January 2025 total production of 75,004 units, marking an 82.2% year-on-year increase.
