Dacia has announced a voluntary resignation scheme aimed at reducing staff count with severance pay of up to tens of thousands of euros offered depending on how long the employee has worked for the automaker.

According to information obtained by Profit.ro, there was no target for the number of people enrolled in the voluntary redundancy programme, romania-insider.com reported.

Dacia suggested workers enrol in the voluntary separation programme for those in sections where reductions or interruptions of activity, project completions, automation, robotisation, digitisation, and other changes in structures or positions were being prepared.

The deadline is 1 October but applications were to be submitted from 9-20 September, a document sent to employees, said.

Besides the severance pay, an additional bonus for voluntary leavers is a discount on a new Dacia, Renault, or Nissan car, according to the collective labour agreement.
