A workplace shooting, a type of incident not uncommon in the US, occurred at a Toldeo, Ohio, Jeep plant on Wednesday when an employee shot three supervisors Wednesday, one fatally, before killing himself.
Police told the Associated Press the shooter walked into the plant with a double-barrel shotgun, yelling and demanding that some of the body shop’s supervisors come to the office area.
The shooting happened in the plant’s body shop office about 8:45 pm (2.45am GMT), the report said.
One victim died in hospital. Police earlier had told AP one victim was in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest and that two others were less seriously injured, but a hospital spokeswoman would not tell the news agency which victim died.
The gunman, identified as Myles Meyers, 54, of Toledo, shot himself in the head, police told AP.
