Hyundai Motor has is working with several major Indonesian electric vehicle (EV) charging companies allowing its customers to access a much broader network of charging stations.
The automaker revealed on the sidelines of the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show in Jakarta it had signed agreements with local charging companies Dayagreen, Charge+ and Buzz, allowing it to provide its customers with easy cross platform charging access.

The automaker said its Indonesia customers could now access charging facilities of affiliated companies using the existing MyHyundai smartphone app without first having to register or set up separate payment systems.
A Hyundai spokesperson said in a statement: “We have entered into a business agreement to provide the most convenient charging service for our EV customers. As a leader in Indonesia’s electric vehicle market, Hyundai will do its utmost to ensure our customers can easily access our products, services and infrastructure.”
The agreements allow EV customers to access an additional 700 chargers at 430 charging stations across Indonesia, which account for an estimated 97% of the country’s commercial EV charging infrastructure.
Hyundai said it was also launching a new EV charging promotion providing new customers with 50kWh of free charging per month for a year to help drive up sales.

Hyundai also unveiled its new Kona EV which went into production at its plant in Bekasi east of Jakarta, earlier this month. The vehicle is powered by batteries made by its local joint venture with LG Energy Solution and priced between IDR499m and IDR590m (US$30,750-US$36,350).
