The supervisory board of Daimler Truck has appointed Eva Scherer as chief financial officer (CFO) and a board member.
The appointment is for until 31 March, 2027.
It follows news last year management board chairman Martin Daum had become temporary CFO following the sudden death of Jochen Goetz on 5 August.
The truck maker had stuck to the ‘tragic incident’ line without elaboration but German newspaper Bild [in German] had reported Goetz died from a wasp sting and reportedly had carried an emergency kit in case of such an event.
Supervisory board chairman Joe Kaeser said today: “The position of CFO has tragically become vacant. Following an intensive selection process, the [board] has now filled the position.”
Scherer is moving from Siemens where she is an executive vice president and global head of investor relations. She started her career there in 2003 as a trainee and held various management positions in purchasing and finance & controlling in Germany, Switzerland and Singapore.
