Kia Motors Europe sales in March reached an all-time high of 26,532 units, an 86% increase on the same period in 2004 and 9% ahead of target.
The cumulative figure for the first quarter this year was 60,278 units, a 72% increase on Q1 2004.
Sales records were set in several countries in March. Kia UK delivered cars to 7,023 retail customers, the Italy unit sold 4,496 vehicles, and 1,285 sales were made in Greece. Records were also set in Austria and Belgium.
The Picanto small car launched in mid-2004 accounted for a ‘significant’ share of March sales, Germany-based Kia Motors Europe said in a statement.
