Daimler Truck said a slight decline in third quarter 2023 sales volume was due mainly to supplier bottlenecks though operating profit increased.
Group revenue rose to EUR13.9bn from EUR13.5bn in Q3 2022 while adjusted EBIT was EUR1.34bn versus EUR1.27bn.
Global sales fell to 128,861 units from 134,972 but the year to date tally of 385,921 units was higher than the previous year’s 365,219.
But, at EUR957m, net income was slightly down from EUR990million which was positively influenced by a one-time extraordinary low tax rate.
Martin Daum, CEO of Daimler Truck said: “We stay on track for success in 2023 as planned.
“Despite a volatile environment, we confirm our forecast for the full year 2023 and expect record earnings.”
