The Angolan Ambassador to China, João Salvador dos Santos Neto, has visited Great Wall Motor (GWM) this month, and said he “hoped [that] GWM would invest and build a factory in Angola.”

The visit comprised the Xushui Smart Factory, R&D Centre and related forest ecosystem enterprises.

GWM Vice President Parker Shi accompanied ambassador Neto and his delegation. Mr Shi said that Angola was one of GWM’s “key markets” in Africa.

GWM said that via an “optimised network plan” it will bring an intelligent and friendly mobility experience to the Angolan market.

The Chinese automaker has already established a presence on the continent. It entered the South African market in 2007.
