Ford Motor Company has confirmed new executive appointments for its Americas operations.

Manufacturing specialist Anne Stevens becomes executive vice president, Ford Motor Company, and chief operating officer, The Americas, making her, according to American media, the most powerful woman in the global motor industry. She is also Ford’s first female executive VP.
Derrick Kuzak becomes group vice president of product development, The Americas, David Szczupak becomes group vice president of manufacturing, replacing Roman Krygier who is retiring, Barb Samardzich becomes a vice president for powertrain operations and Joseph Hinrichs now a vice president for North America vehicle operations.
The appointments, made following Mark Fields’ recent ascension to president of Ford’s Americas operations, take effect on November 1.
“I have asked Mark Fields to do what’s necessary to turn around our North American automotive operations,” Ford chairman and CEO Bill Ford said. “I fully expect the leadership team he has put in place today for The Americas will drive a turnaround and return a critical part of our business to a sustained level of profitability.”
Ford’s Americas operations reported a $US819 million pretax loss in the second quarter.
