The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says it has received 380 reports of loss of power steering assistant in 2013-2016 Ram 1500 pickup trucks.

Investigations are underway to assess if 1.1 million Ram 1500s should be recalled because of the reported issues. There have been three reports of crashes.

Parent company Stellantis said it is “fully cooperating with NHTSA on this investigation.”

The NHTSA has opened a recall query “to determine if the scope of the recall mentioned above is correct or if another defect might exist,” Reuters reports.

Complaints filed with the NHTSA include instances of the steering wheel locking when the vehicle was driving at 55mph (89 kmph).

In 2016, Fiat Chrysler recalled 440 trucks due to potential electric power steering issues.
