Ford is recalling 870,000 F-150 trucks in the United States.

Reuters reported this was due to a potential wiring problem which could cause the electric parking brake to activate unexpectedly.

The recall affects 2021 through 2023 model year vehicles with a single exhaust system.

According to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Ford had received 918 warranty claims and three field reports about a wire chafing issue.

No crashes or injuries had been reported, the automaker added.

Dealers would fit a protective tie strap, applying tape wrap, and replace the harness as necessary.
