Hyundai Motor Company has previewed its “radically transformed” fully redesigned Santa Fe mid size SUV with a boxy design compared with the curved angles of the predecessor on sale since 2018.

The new model is scheduled to be officially launched live worldwide in August via YouTube.

The automaker said the new model was designed to appeal to outdoor lifestyle buyers with a more versatile, open interior, larger tailgate and maximum cargo capacity. Bold exterior features are intended to retain appeal to urban buyers.

Design chief SangYup Lee said: “With its longer wheelbase, roomy interior and terrace like tailgate space, the new Santa Fe leans into its SUV strengths to offer more versatility as well as a premium customer experience”.

Hyundai said the interior has sustainable materials with the headliner, mats and second- and third-row seatbacks made from recycled plastic while the crash pad and door trim covers are made from eco friendly leatherette.
