The twin motor, AWD i5 M60 xDrive has 601hp, 820Nm and does the 100km/h sprint in a neck snapping 3.8 seconds. Quoted range is 282-320 miles.
The eighth generation model is 97mm longer at 5,006mm, 32mm wider at 1,900mm and 36mm heigher at 1,515mm. Wheelbase is up 20mm to 2,995mm for improved rear legroom.
It will be the first BMW sold in the UK with Veganza [vegan leather] upholstery as standard from launch, on seats, dashboard and door panels while the so called Interaction Bar first seen in the larger 7 Series has been added.
The new saloon is also now available with a panoramic roof for the first time and new technology includes AI-driven servicing notifications and introduction of in car gaming.

By GlobalDataThere are three trim levels initially, priced from just under GBP50,000. 530e and 550e xDrive plug-in hybrid models, expected early in 2024, will offer a WLTP electric range of 49-56 miles and 54-62 miles respectively. The Touring (estate car/wagon) due later in 2024 will also be available with all-electric drive for the first time.
