Automotive News Europe says three Chinese automakers will have their cars on show at the IAA in Frankfurt next month.


Landwind Europe will show the Opel Frontera-based SUV that went on sale last month in the Netherlands. The Landwind SUV will go on sale in Germany during the IAA. Landwind will start exporting its CV9 large minivan next year but that model will not be at the show. Both vehicles are made in China by Ford Motor Co. partner Jiangling Motors Corp.


Geely Motors, one of China’s so-called young tigers, is showing showing five models – the Free Cruiser small sedan; FC and M303H lower-medium sedans; Haoqing lower-medium hatchback and the CD (China Dragon) sports car.


Euro Motors will exhibit the Zhonghua large sedan, which is built by BMW’s China partner Brilliance Jinbei Automobile Co.


Landwind will be the only brand with its cars actually on sale in Europe.

But Geely has appointed Lisbon-based auto retailer Sociedade Hispanica de Automoveis (SHA) to distribute its cars in Portugal and Spain. The Chinese manufacturer is looking for partners in other European countries.
