British car dealer group Reg Vardy on Friday said it had a strong first half and expected a satisfactory outcome for the full year.

“Whilst we continue to be cautious about the impact of a weak consumer environment in the remainder of the financial year, the overall performance of the group has been encouraging,” Reg Vardy said in a statement cited by Reuters.
“The group has performed strongly in both new and used retail vehicle sales (and) … continues to experience performances in line with management expectations,” it said.
Latest data showed new car registrations in Britain fell 3.2% in September year-on-year to 417,000, Reuters noted.
