Infiniti’s US unit said most model year 2020 and newer vehicles are now eligible to upgrade to wireless Apple CarPlay though there is a time limit.

The free upgrade, which is done by dealers, is available for the 2020 and 2021 Q50, Q60, QX50 and QX80.

“Jeff Pope, group VP, Infiniti Americas, said: “More than 80% of luxury vehicle owners use Apple products, and now these owners can go wireless while using CarPlay in their vehicle.”

The Nissan Motor premium brand introduced wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility with the 2022 QX55 last spring, followed by the 2022 QX80 with a new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Next up for wireless is the just-announced 2022 Q50 and Q60, and then the QX60.

The complimentary wireless upgrade is available until 31 March, 2022.
