The new Volvo Trucks product ranges are being unveiled at the RAI European Road Transport Show 2002 in Amsterdam this week. The FM and FH ranges are at the heart of Volvo Trucks product offering and the model changeover is hugely important to the company.

The company’s three new models – the Volvo FH12, Volvo FM12 and Volvo FM9 – represent one of the largest product renewal projects ever undertaken by Volvo Trucks.

The total investment in the new models, which amounts to 5.5 billion kronor (about 600 million Euro) includes a new automatic gearchanging system, new electronic system, new chassis range, new cab variant, renewed exterior with improved aerodynamics and a new interior.

Series production of the new trucks commenced late last month at the company’s Tuve Plant in Gothenburg, Sweden.

After Tuve, production of the new trucks will start next in Gent, Belgium, where it is planned to start production of the new trucks in mid-February.
