USA: Toyota appoints Mexican operation MD
Toyota Motor Sales USA has appointed Jose Luis Sanchez Andion as managing director of Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V., the company established in May to begin planning sales, marketing and service operations in the South American country. Sanchez Andion will be in charge of implementing Toyota's business plans in Mexico and will report directly to TMS in Torrance, California.

Brazil’s Samambaia Group and American company Lacaro Auto Distributors have formed a joint venture called Cross Lander to make Romanian Aro vehicles in Brazil, writes Rogério Louro. Cross Lander has signed a technology transfer agreement with Aro and will start CKD build of the Aro 24 SUV model in a plant in Manaus, Amazonas state, at the end of July.
