VinFast Auto has officially launched its new battery-powered VF MPV 7 in the Indonesian market, targeting the country’s substantial family MPV segment. The Vietnamese automaker began taking orders for the seven-seater VF MPV 7 at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026, which runs between the 5th and 15th February.
The VF MPV 7 is an upmarket version of the Limo Green, which was launched in Vietnam last July and sold mainly as a battery-powered taxi. The VF MPV 7, launched in Vietnam in January, is powered by an electric motor delivering a maximum power output of 150 kW (201 hp) and peak torque of 280 Nm. Power is supplied by a 60 kWh battery pack, which provides a driving range of up to 450 km on a full charge. The battery can be recharged from 10% to 70% in approximately 30 minutes.
VinFast completed construction of its local assembly plant in Subang, in Indonesia’s West Java province, at the end of last year, with the VF MPV 7 set to go into production alongside SUV models including the VF3, VF5 and VF6, which are already available in the local market. Indonesia was VinFast’s largest overseas market last year with almost 11,000 vehicle sales, with the VF3 and VF5 as its best-selling models.
The VF MPV 7 is priced at IDR 420 million (US$ 25,000) on the road, including the battery pack, and IDR 345 million with a separate battery subscription. The company said its “flexible battery subscription policy is designed to optimize different usage needs: the monthly fee is IDR 880,000 for travel distances of up to 2,000 km, and IDR 1,350,000 for distances exceeding 2,000 km.”
