Suzuki Motor Corporation’s subsidiary in India, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, has achieved a milestone of 30m cumulative Indian domestic vehicle sales, passed on 2 November 2025.

Suzuki signed a joint venture agreement with the Indian Government and Maruti Udyog, the predecessor of Maruti Suzuki in 1982, and rolled out its first model, the Maruti 800 in December 1983. Since then, the company has been providing cars like the Alto, WagonR, and Swift that support the daily transportation of people in India, while also expanding its lineup of SUV models that have become increasingly popular in recent years, such as the Brezza, Grand Vitara, Fronx, and the Victoris, which was launched in September 2025.

Suzuki reached the 30m cumulative sales milestone in 42 years.

India is the second country following Japan to achieve cumulative Suzuki automobile sales of 30m units.

Maruti Suzuki currently sells 19 models in India. These include powertrain options such as hybrid and CNG models with low CO2 emissions. Furthermore, in November 2024, Suzuki announced its first BEV e VITARA, for which India will be the manufacturing hub.

The e VITARA, which is being manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat plant, will be exported to over 100 countries and regions, of which the first consignment was sent to Europe in August 2025.
