Stellantis expands stop-drive action for Citroën C3 and DS3 in Europe

Vehicles made from 2009 to 2019 are being recalled in a campaign that started over a year ago.

Stellantis has enforced an immediate stop-drive action across Europe for specific models of Citroën C3 and DS3 vehicles, citing concerns over Takata airbags.

The affected vehicles, produced between 2009 and 2019, are part of an extensive recall campaign that began over a year ago.

Owners are urged to halt driving their cars and contact dealers for a complimentary repair.

The stop-drive action includes vehicles that were already subject to a recall campaign, initially in Southern Europe and later in the northern regions.

Decisions for such actions consider factors like airbag specifications, vehicle age, climate, and regulatory authority alerts.

Following a recent incident in France, Stellantis has broadened its efforts, reinforcing its dedication to customer safety.

Stellantis is contacting customers with additional information on the stop-drive order.

Owners are encouraged to use the VIN check tool on the Citroën website, reach out to local dealers, or call the customer service hotline to determine if their vehicle is affected.

It's crucial for owners who have moved or changed contact details to update their information for effective communication.

The company is utilising its entire network, including suppliers, dealerships, and manufacturing sites, to facilitate this action and provide the safest and most convenient solution for customers.

Stellantis's commitment to rapid, transparent, and responsible action on this issue remains steadfast.

Last month, Stellantis appointed Antonio Filosa as CEO, succeeding Carlos Tavares who resigned in December 2024 amid US market challenges.
