Stellantis invests in Fiat’s historic home

A one-of-three ‘green campus’ at Mirafori in Italy will be carbon neutral

Dani Cole July 04 2023

Stellantis will invest in its Mirafiori site, the historic home of Fiat, to create a ‘green campus’.

Located in Turin, northern Italy, Mirafiori is one of three ‘green campus’ projects, the other two being located in Poissy, France and Rüsselsheim, Germany.

The automaker said its investment was “triple-digit million euros”. Reuters reports that the investment will be up to EU200 million.

The new campus’ facilities aim to strengthen Stellantis’ R&D and automotive design functions

Xavier Chéreau, Stellantis Chief Human Resources & Transformation Officer said: “With each new grEEn-campus, we are rethinking our iconic buildings to better respond to our new hybrid ways of working, as a significant number of our colleagues are taking advantage of flexible remote working, while also contributing to the Company’s carbon footprint reduction.”

The campus will feature ‘generous’ green spaces, buildings that are environmentally efficient and solar panels.

It is expected that and the Mirafiori project will be completed by 2025.

Stellantis wants to become carbon net zero by 2038.
